Welcome to Lincoln Elementary

Lincoln Elementary has a rich history in this southwest neighborhood.  Our new school opened its doors to children in the fall of 2016.
This new facility was built following the passage of a bond issue in May 2013.  Lincoln serve approximately 425 students in grades 1-5.

Lincoln has once again been named a Great Expectations Model School for the 10th year in a row.  The program represents an approach to learning that empowers teachers to expect and to get the best from students.  It rekindles the excitement of discovery among both students and teacher, and pushes everyone involved top greater heights of achievement.

Lincoln is also has a strong focus on AVID [Advancement Via Individual Determination].  While most teachers at all grade levels have been trained, the emphasis currently is on the 4th and 5th grades.  AVID targets our middle of the road students who often fall through the cracks.  Our students continue to learn and grow through AVID.

Our principal, Lacy Mitchell.  Ms. Mitchell joined the ACS family in August of 2007 and served as an elementary teacher at Jefferson Elementary.  In 2014, Ms. Mitchell was assigned as the Assistant Principal at Charles Evans and in 2017 as Principal at Lincoln following the retirement of Ellen Patty.  Ms. Mitchell has her Bachelor’s Degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University and her Master’s Degree from East Central University
