John Laws

Geologist, John Laws, Visits Lincoln!

On Tuesday, October 3 John Laws, a geologist came to speak to our students about the different methods that are used to find, extract, and refine oil. This went alongside the OERB curriculum that 4th graders are using to learn Earth science. Students were able to see and smell a crude oil sample, hold and observe rocks and sand from an oil site, and view and evaluate graphs used in the collection efforts of oil.

Our community will be voting next Tuesday on the renewal of the sales tax. Many of you have asked us how much Ardmore Schools has received over the last five years and what have we used those funds for. Specifically, Ardmore has used the sales tax funds for technology equipment and instructional classroom materials. We have received over $3.41 million in funds to date. Attached is a flier which gives you a quick look at just what those technology items were.
